I had surgery on my left Ankle because there were metal Plates in it from an ankle bone breakage many years ago. I had the wound doctors Put a tight ankle wrap over the wound up to my knee. This stopped my circulation return because the arteries are deep inside and the blood return veins are closer to the skin so the blood and water return was difficult so the wounds had blood and water leaving the wound. The Dr. also sent me to a circulation Dr. that said my circulation in my legs was very good but the tight wound bandage wraps were terrible. I tried to get these Doctors to reduce the wound bands but the Doctors would not and they would dig out the repairing wound every week so it was the same for 3 years. On my right ankle I had a small one half inch blister and in two months of their care it was a4 inch wide circle wound after their care. I even went to a different doctor’s office thinking they would accept my suggestions they would not she wanted to dig out even the scab that was way below the surface. So then on November I functioned with my own decisions. The surgery wound was over 3 inches long and inch and a half wide and deep. Since there was water leaving the wound they thought it was infected but it was not. The water was the water of body water they blocked in my ankles. So everything was wet. Now taking the water pills and not using the tight bandages both ankles are healing great. The ankle surgery wound with a wet scab over 1 inch inside the wound is now above the wound repair so when it falls off the skin will be in the natural position before the surgery. Doctors need to know that the water in the ankles needed to be removed from the body with the water pills in older people.
